RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WO`" ° S TO ACT AST E OFFICIAL
REPRESENTATIVE FOR BUTTE COUNTY IN EXECUTING COOPS' • TIVE FOREST ROAD
AGREEMENTS AND PROJECT AGREEMENTS WITH THE UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE,
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
WHEREAS, on January 8th, 1973, County of Butte (County) and United States Forest Service
(USES) entered into a Forest Development Road Cooperative Agreement for the cooperative planning,
survey, design, construction, reconstruction, improvements, maintenance and use of certain forest
development roads in Butte County, and
WHEREAS, on October 24, 1988, County and USES entered into a Supplemental Project
Agreement for French Creek Road (County Road 49665A, Forest Rd 21N79Y) to provide for the
maintenance during timber sales and allow for future reconstruction, as funded, and
WHEREAS, on July 29, 2014, the Butte County Board of Supervisors approved the filing of an
application with the State of California of an Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHMV) grant to provide for
maintenance of up to 930 miles of roads and 201 miles of trails within Butte County and the Plumas
National Forest, and
WHEREAS, said application was ultimately approved by the State of California Department of
Parks and Recreation for funding to commence on September 1, 2014, and
WHEREAS, County and USFS foresee the need to infrequently update the USES Cooperative and
Supplemental Road Agreements, in order to keep them current and allow the OHMV grant road and trail
maintenance ground operations to be performed;
NOW, THEREFORE, E IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, that:
1. The Cooperative Forest Road Agreement between Butte County and the USDA, Forest Service
Region 5/Plumas National Forest/Feather River District is hereby approved.
2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Forest Road
Agreement and any future amendments and Project Agreements on behalf of Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
this 9t1' day of December, 2014, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Lambert and Chair Teeter
