AN ORDINANCE ZONING A.'PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "A-40" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN
SPACE) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 475, AS
AMENDED
.The Board of Supervisors of .the County of Butte., .State of

California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475 of sand County,
being the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, as amended, DOES ORDAIN as
follows
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area, situated in
the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
hereby zoned as an "A-20" (Agricultural-Open Space) District, and
such area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses
and regulations hereinafter specified and provided. Said area so
zoned being located near Gridley, California, more particularly
described as follows:
All of that portion of T18N, R1E MDB&M located east
of the Butte County Line.
All of that portion of T17N, R1E MDB&M located north
and east of the Butte County Line.
All of Sections 3, 4, S, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15, l6, l7, 18,
19, 20, 2l, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33; that
portion of Sections 24 and 25 located west of the Southern',
Pacific Railroad right-of-way; the W2 of Section 14; ',
and the N2 of the N'~ of Sections 34 and 35; and the '~
W'~ and the SE4 of Section 10 and the SW~ and the S'~ of
the SEQ of Section 23; all in T18N, R2E MDB&M. 'i
All of Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, l5, 16, 17, 18,
19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24, the S 2/ the WZ of the NW4
and the W 2 of the NE a of the NW 4 of Section 3; the
W 2 j the SE 4 i and the W Z of the NE a of Section l0 ;
and the S z, the NWT, the S z of the NE a, the NE a of
the NE ~ and the W 2 of the NW4 of the NE a of Section
13, all in Tl7N, R2E MDB&M.

Pacific Railroad right-of-way,
.Excepting therefrom the northerly-1100 ft.

SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-40" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply to an "A-40"
District:
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwellings, including mobile homes.
b. General agriculture, farming, horticulture, commer-
cial livestock, poultry production, growing and
harvesting forestry products, warehousing and
storage.
c. Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the
permitted uses, including agricultural processing
plants.
d. Housing facilities (including trailers) to accomodate
only eanployees and their families employed by the
owner of operator of the premises; and provided
further that such housing facility shall be considere~
accessory to the main building and shall conform to
the parovision,spertaining to required yard and open
space for dwellings,
e. Mining, quarrying, commercial excavation and wood
processing plants.

f. Hunting and fishing camps, including those which
accommodate recreational vehicles and travel trailers
providing that said recreational vehicles and gavel
trailers shall not be used far year round occupancy.
2 , 2 I~IINIMUM LOT AREA REQUIRED
Minimum lot area shall not be less than forty {40}
acres .
2.3 FRONT YARD REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum front yard shah. be fifty (50} feet from the
centerline of the road, except where the road is
classified by the County as a Federal Aid Secondary
Road, the minimum building setback requirements shall
be fifty--five (55} feet from the centerline of the
road.
SECTION 3. Ali. uses of land not specifically authorized
and permitted under Section 2 ara prohibited caithan the district.
SECTION 4. In compliance, with the provisions of the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Zoning
Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 5. The penalties far the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be and it is hereby

declared to be in full farce and effect from and after thirty (30}
days after the date of its passage, and bYfore the expiration of
...fifteen (151 days after its passage, this ordinance shall be ;oub--
lishea once with the names of the mem~ers of the Board of Super--
