ORDINANCE NO. 1439
AN ORDTNA~~TCE A.1~lENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1002, ZONING
DEFINITIONS.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Sttte, State
of California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475 of said
County, being the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, as amended, DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
Ordinance No. 1002, Zoning Definition, is hereby amended
to include the following:
1. a. AG~i;ICULTURAL EMPLOYEE: An individual who veri-
fies, by personal affidavit and by affidavit of his employer,
that he is, or will be, smployed at least 32 hours per week for
at least 16 weeks per year, or that his primary source of annual
income is, or is anticipated to be, derived from, any_of._the
following described occupations:
(1) The preparation, care, and treatment of farm
land, pipeline, or ditches, including leve l-
ing far agricultural purposes, plowing,
discing, and fertilizing the soil;
(2) The sowing and planting of any agricultural
or horticultural cammadity~
(3 } The care of any agricultural or horticul-
tural commodity. As used in this subdi-
vision, "car°" includes, but is not limited
to, cultivation, irrigation, weed control,
thinning, heating, pruning, or tieing,
fumigating, spraying, and dusting;
(4) The harvesting of any agricultural or
horticultural commodity, including but

not limited to, picking, cutting, threshing,
mowing, knocking aff, field chopping,
bunching, baling, balling, field packing,
and placing in field containers or in the
vehicle in which the commodity will be
hauled on the farm or to the puce of
f first processing;
(5} The assembly and storage of any agricultural
ar horticultural commodity, including but
not limited to, loading, roadsiding, banking,
stacking, binning, and piling;
(b) The raising, feeding and management of live-
stock, fur bearing animals, fish, frogs and
other aquatic animals, and bees, including
but not limited to, herding, housing, hatch-
ing, milking, shearing, handling eggs, and
extracting honey.
{7} The operation, conservation, improvement or
maintenance of such farm and its tools and
equipment.
That this Ordinance sha11 take effect thirty {30} days
after the date of its adoption, and before the expiration of
f if teen (15) days after its passage, it shall be published with
the names of the members voting for and against the same in the
Bi s News , a newspaper published in the
County of Butte, State of California.
