AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISkITNG SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS WTTHTN
THE COUNTY OF BUTTES STATE OF CAT;IFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Sections 22357 &.22358)
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
2 does ordain as follows:
3 Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
4 engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
5 comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
6 of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55} miles per hour is
7 more than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares
$ a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
g A. That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25} miles per hour
10 is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED I<IMIT 25 MILES
11 signs be planed at appropriate locations on the herenafter~described county
3,2 highway, to wit:
13 Bidwell Avenue from Rose Avenue to Glenwood Avenue
14 Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
15 are hereby repealed.
16 Section`3; The several features, parts, provisbns, sections and terms
17 of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severahle, and the in^
lg validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
19 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
20 tive or invalid.
21 Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
22 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
23 speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
24 This ordinance shall ta[ce effect thirty days after its passage, and
25 before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
26 with the names of the membersvoting for and against the same, once in a
27 local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.

State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 6th. day
o£ August , 1974 , by the following votes
AYES; Supervisors Cameron, Gilman, Ladd, McKillop and Chairman Madigan
