AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEID LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN
THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Sectionr22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows:
Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is
more than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares
a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
(~. That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
highway, to wit:
Railroad Avenue from Brough to Biggs city limits
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinanne are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
tive or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
.speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall. be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a
local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
