RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO
RELEASE THE COUNTY'S REVERSIONARY INTEREST IN STATE OWNED REAL PROPERTY,
CAL ARE :UTTE UNIT STATION 63, OROVILLE, CALIFORNIA 95965
WHEREAS,the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California recognized a need to
provide greater professional fire protection services to the citizens of Butte County in the 1930's; and
WHEREAS, the State of California made application to purchase County owned real property in
Oroville, California for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, on June 6, 1933, the Board of Supervisors by resolution confirmed the sale of County
owned real property identified as a portion of Assessor's parcel number 031-040-015-000, commonly referred
to as Cal Fire Butte Unit Station 63-Oroville with a street address of 176 Nelson Avenue, Oroville, California
96965, to the State of California with the provision that the real property would revert to the County if it
ceased to be used for fire protection purposes. Consequently, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte
executed a Deed containing a Reversionary Clause conveying the real property to the State of California that
was recorded on September 15, 1933 in Volume 7, Page 268 of the Official records of the County of Butte; and
WHEREAS,the State of California desires to construct the Butte Fire Station/Unit Headquarters
Replacement on the subject real property using State bond financing that requires the real property to be free
of any deed restrictions (e.g., reversionary clauses); and
WHEREAS,the State of California requests that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte
execute a Quit Claim Deed to the State of California to release the County's interest in the subject real
property thereby removing the deed restriction.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the County of Butte to support the proposed
construction of the Butte Fire Station/Unit Headquarters Replacement; approve the State's request; and
authorize the Director-General Services to execute the Quit Claim Deed on behalf of the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte.

this 13th day of January, 2015, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, WahI, Kirk, Lambert and Chair Teeter
