RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING
EMPLOYMENT AND ELIGIBILITY STAFF WEEK
JANUARY 26—JANUARY 30,2015
IN BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS,Employment Professionals enhance the economic well-being of individuals, families,and the
community by providing an array of services designed to assist customers obtain gainful employment; and
WHEREAS, in 2014, Employment Professionals worked with over 1,000 cash aid recipients, helping them
overcome obstacles and progress toward economic self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, Employment Professionals provided intensive case management to families who are homeless,
at risk of becoming homeless, or experiencing other crises that impair their ability to obtain and maintain
employment; and
WHEREAS, in 2014, Eligibility Professionals supported over 40,000 households by processing and
maintaining benefits that provided medical care, housing, and shelter; and
WHEREAS, Eligibility Professionals working at the Customer Service Center assisted more than 100,000
customers by telephone, using the"One and Done"approach to provide an excellent customer experience; and
WHEREAS, Eligibility Professionals continue to improve their knowledge and expertise related to their
profession so they can evaluate individuals and families for eligibility to the Affordable Care Act, expanded Medi-
Cal, and other aid programs; and
WHE! AS,the aforementioned is possible because Employment and Eligibility Professionals are assisted,
supported, and trained in the performance of their duties by a diverse and highly-skilled managerial and supervisory
staff; and
WHEREAS, it is important that all citizens of Butte County honor Employment and Eligibility
Professionals who serve our county residents with competence and compassion,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the County
honors its Employment and Eligibility Professionals, Supervisors, and Administrative Support staff by proclaiming
January 26th through January 30th, 2015 as Employment and Eligibility Staff Recognition Week in Butte County.
