AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SB'EED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS
~~~ITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, does ordain as follows:
Section l; Said Board finds and determines that upon-the basis,-I
of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways
hereinafter described come within the provisians of Section 225$
of the Vehicle Code of the State of California., in that a p rima
facie speed limit of sixty-five {65) males per hour is more than is
'reasona.ble and safe on said highways and determines and declares a
prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
A. That a prima facie speed limit of twenty--five (25) miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SFEED
LIMIT 25 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the here-
~inaftsr described County highway, to wit:
Maxwell Drive from North Central dark Drive to Elliott Road
B. That a. prima. facie speed limit of thirty-five (35} miles per
~~haur is hereby determined, declared and established and that SgEED
LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations an the here-
~inafter des.cr~.bed county highways, to wit:
1. Kelly Ridge Raad from Hillcrest Avenue to North end
2. Lodgeview Drive from Kelly Ridge Road to Hillcrest Avenue.
3. Royal Oaks Drive from Canyon Drive to Kelly Ridge Road
Section 2: All ordinances ar parts of ordinances in conflict
Ilhere~aith a.re hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections, and
erms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and sever--
~~able, and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions,
section, or term thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this
ordinance, nor render the same inoperative or invalid.

is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the
prima facie speed limit established herein, within thirty {30) days
of the adaptian.hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage,
and before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it
shall be published with the names of the members voting for and
against the same, once in a local newspaper published in`:the County
of Butte, State of California. ~,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the
sth day of octaber 1974 , by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Cameron, Gilman, Ladd, McKillop and Chairman Madigan
NOES : None
ABSENT; None
NOT VOTING; None
