RESOLUTION ECLA IN A C A
SOCIAL WORKMONTH
WHEREAS, the primary mission of Social Work is to enhance human well-being and help meet the basic needs
of all people, especially the most vulnerable in society; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers support diverse families in every community, understanding that individuals and
communities together can bring about change; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers help people in every stage of life function better in their environments, improve their
relationships with others, and solve personal and family problems; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers advocate for others to make sure everyone has access to the same basic rights,
protections, and opportunities; understanding that poverty and trauma can create lifelong social and economic
disadvantages; and
WHEREAS, all children have the right to safe environments and quality education; and
WHEREAS, dignity and care-giving for older adults help define a nation's character; and
WHEREAS, Social workers believe that each person has the right and potential to lead a productive and fulfilling
life with dignity; and
WHEREAS,Social Workers celebrate the courage, hope, and strength of the human spirit throughout their
careers;
NOW, THEREFORE, ITIS HEREBYRESOLVEIL that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Bente, State
of California, hereby declare the month of March 2015 as Social Work Month in Butte County to honor all Social
Workers for their commitment to the profession of social work;their dedication to the highest moral and ethical standards;
and their practice of social work with the competency of their profession, as their primary obligation, for the welfare of
the individuals and families served.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 24th day of March 2015 by the following vote:
