Resolution No, 15-116
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE ESTABLISHING LIMITED BENEFITS
FOR EXTRA HELP APPOINTMENTS
WHEREAS, Extra Help Appointments are not eligible for many of the employment
benefits offered by the County; and
WHEREAS, in some circumstances based on organization need, legislative changes and
policy changes, the County needs the ability to provide Extra Help Appointments certain County
offered employment benefits; and
WHEREAS, all benefits and conditions of employment not identified in this resolution
for Extra Help Appointments shall be identified in the Butte County Personnel Rules; and
WHEREAS, resolution 15-072 formerly specified all benefits and conditions of
employment for Extra Help appointments that were not identified in the Butte County Personnel
Rules; and
WHEREAS, this resolution supersedes and replaces Resolution Number 15-072.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, the benefits for Extra Help Appointments are hereby established as follows:
1.00 Standby Pay
a. Status
Extra Help Employees shall be entitled to receive forty dollars ($40.00) for each
eight—hour standby shift, or portion thereof, as ordered and authorized by an
appointing authority. A standby shift is defined as any eight(8)hour shift outside
of the employee's normal shift.
b. Response Time
Extra Help Employees placed on standby status shall keep the appointing
authority or designee advised of their location during the standby shift and shall
respond to duty within thirty (30) minutes from the time of notification. When
an appointing authority determines it is in the interest of the County to provide
electronic paging devices for standby workers, the appointing authority shall
provide and maintain such devices and instruct workers in proper use.
2.00 Site Differential
Employees working in Behavioral Health, assigned to the following programs
and/or locations, shall be provided an additional five(5%) percent of base pay (non-
pensionable):
a) Butte County Psychiatric Health Facility
b) Butte County Crisis Stabilization Unit
c) Crisis Services— inclusive of Crisis Walk-In Center, Mobile Crisis and Hospital
Triage Crisis and other emergency psychiatric services as determined by the
department; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution supersedes and replaces Resolution
Number 15-072.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, of the County of Butte, State of
California, at a regular meeting of said Board, held on the 25th day of August, 2015 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Lambert and Chair Teeter
