RESOLUTION DECLARING UNCLAIMED MONIES HELD IN THE VICTIM RESTITUTION FUND
TO BE THE PROPERTY OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
WHEREAS, there is currently on deposit with the County Treasurer of the County of Butte in a fund entitled,
"Fund 1390-Victim Witness," the sum of$4,417.62 which has remained unclaimed in the County Treasury of the County
of Butte for more than three years, and which sums were received from the Butte County Superior Court; and
WHEREAS, the County Treasurer has caused appropriate notice to be published in the form and manner
provided by 50050, 50051 and 50053 of the Government Code in the Enterprise Record, a newspaper of general
circulation published in the County of Butte on May 11, 2015 and May 18, 2015, at a publication cost of$388.18, as
appears from the affidavit of publication on file with the Clerk of the Board as set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto;
and
WHEREAS, after due diligence there remains$4,417.62 in said fund after claims were made on said monies and
it is necessary and desirable to provide for the escheatment of said monies to the County of Butte pursuant to 50050 et
seq. of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the unclaimed monies in the amount of$4,417.62 have become the property of the County of Butte,
and this Board of Supervisors desires to transfer said monies from the special fund in which it has been deposited to the
General Fund of the County for the purpose supporting victim services.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the unclaimed monies totaling$4,417.62 on deposit with the County
Treasurer of the County of Butte described in Exhibit"A" attached hereto, shall be and hereby are declared to be the
property of the County of Butte; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the unclaimed funds totaling$4,417.62 shall be transferred into the General
Fund, Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office, to support the Enhanced Victim Restitution Collection and Disbursement Pilot
Program.

vote:
