RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING NOVEMBER 2015 AS
INHOWIE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES HOME CARE WO ll KERS MONTH
WHEREAS, numerous national organizations have joined together in declaring the month
of November 2015 as National home Care Month to recognize, honor and support the valuable
contributions of home care workers; and
WHEREAS, the California In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program is recognized
nationally and has been replicated in other states as the preferred way to provide assistance to
people who need long-term care; and
WHEREAS, more than 3,600 IHSS Home Care Workers provide home care services and
support which make it possible for approximately 3,745 low-income, disabled and elderly residents
in Butte County to remain living independently in the comfort and security of their homes; and
WHEREAS, the work of Butte County's IHSS Home Care Workers often involves
provision of care to ill and recuperating HISS recipients that is both physically demanding and
emotionally challenging; and
WEE REAS, the work of Butte County's MSS Home Care Workers requires great
sensitivity, honesty, patience, trust, commitment, dedication and compassion.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
does hereby recognize the month of November as Butte Cou :ty "In-Home Supportive Services
Home Care Workers Month."

2015 by the following vote:
