RESOWTIO IN APP 1'ECIATION OF DOROTHY SMITH
UPON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION DE I ARTMENT
VVHE EAS, 1 orothy Smith, Administrative Assistant for the County Administration Depart lent, Safety
and Risk Management Division, announced her retirement as of December 29, 2015; and
INHE'EAS, Dorothy Smith began her career with the County of Butte as a stenographer in the Planning
Department in 1977; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy advanced to positions in Public Health, Planning, and the Auditor Controller's
Office; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy joined the County Ad 1 inistration Department in 1990, holding positions of
Executive Secretary and Administrative Assistant; and
WHEREAS, during her time in County Administration, Dorothy provided her expertise to a variety of
functions including the Clerk of the Board and, for the last 8 years, Safety and Risk Management; and
W IEREAS, Dorothy was responsible for the County's Assess ent Appeals Program and was
instrumental in processing hundreds of citizen applications for relief; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy makes the world's best Cherry Garcia Squares; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Smith has earned the respect of fellow County employees, family, county
residents, and intergovernmental agencies, diligently serving the County of Butte for thirty-nine (39) years;
II OW,THEREFORE t E IT RESOLV1 DI, by the Board of Supervisors on its own behalf, and on behalf of
the residents of the County of tutte, expresses its si cere appreciation to 1 orothy Smith for her many years
of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of County of Butte, and further, wish
her well on her retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 24h day of November, 2015 by
the following votes:
