RESOLUTION CONFIRMING Ai ID I ICREASIF 1G THE CHA GE FUND UTILIZED BY THE
BUTTE COUNTY TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR'S DEPARTMENT
(GOVE-INI IENT CODE SECTION 232 let seq.)
WHE`EAS,the Butte County Board of Supervisors has determined that, for the efficient operation of the Butte County
Treasurer-Tax Collector Departme t, Change Funds are necessary; and
HEREAS,the Government Code of the State of California, Sections 29320 et seq., provides for the establishment of
such funds in amounts to be determined by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors authorized the Treasurer-Tax Collector to establish a change fund in the amount of
$200 by minute order on July 6, 1976; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors authorized an additional change fund for Central Collections by minute order 1993;
and
WHEREAS, Resolution 04-214 increased the Change Fund in 2004 for the Tax Division independe tly,for a department
total of$600; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 08422 increased the change fund in 2008 for Central Collections; and
WHEREAS, the combined change funds of the Tax Division and the Central Collections Division in the Treasurer-Tax
Collector Department is now$750; and
HERE,S, the Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector has determined that increasing the Change Fund from $750,00 to
$1,000,00 is necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
' OW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE' , by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. Resolution 04-214 is hereby rescinded;
2. Resolution 08-122 is hereby rescinded; and
3. This resolution supersedes all prior actions by the Board of Supervisors to establish and increase change
funds in the Treasurer-Tax Collector Department.
4. A change fund is hereby established in the Treasurer-Tax Collector Department in the amount of$1,000
allowing up to 5 cash drawers in the Tax Division and 3 cash drawers in the Central Collections Division:
5, That this Fund is established in accordance with Sections 29320 et seq. of the Government Code of the State
of California, and that certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Butte County Treasurer-
Tax Collector and Auditor-Controller.
6. That the Chief Administrative Officer and Risk Manager are instructed pursuant to Section 29323 of the
Government Code to amend by endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the county to be conditioned in
addition to its other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the Change Funds and upon the
willingness and ability of the principal for whom such funds have been established to account for and pay
over the funds upon demand of the Board of Supervisors at anytime.
7. The Auditor-Controller of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant in the
sum of$250.00 in favor of the Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector Department to augment the previously
existing change fund of$750 and in order to establish the new change fund of$1,000.
