E _'E COUNTY ORDINANCE N0. 1554
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN
THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Section 22357}
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
2 does ordain as follot~=s:
3 Section 1: Said Board finds and determinesGhat upon the basis of an
4 engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter_described
5 comes trithin the provisions of Section 2235'7 of the Vehicle Code of the State
6 of California, in that the existing speed lian.it of t~•renty-five (25) miles per
7 hour is less than is most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of
8 traffic on said highway and determines and declares a prima facie speed limit
9 on such Butte County highway as follows:
10 That a pri~pa facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour is
I1 hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEID LIMIT 35 MILES
12 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
13 highway, to wit:
14 II SKYWAY from Neal Road to Olive Street
15 I Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
16 are hereby repealed.

17 ~ Section 3: `~'~he several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
18 of this ordinance are .hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
19 validity, i.f any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
20 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
2], ~~t ive or invalid .
22 Section /~: The Department of Public Works of the: County of Butte is
23 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
24 speed limit established herein, within thirty (3O) days of the adoption hereof.
25 This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
2g efore the expiration of fifteen, days after its passage, it sha~,l be published

with the names of the members voting far and against the same, once in a
local newspaper published ixi the County of Butte, State of Galifornia.
PASSID AND ADOPTID by the Board of Supervisors of the Gounty of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 11th day
of March , 1975 , by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Cameron, Richter, Madigan and Chairman Ladd
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Supervisor McKi~llop
