AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROAD WITHIN THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OE CALIFORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows:
Section l: Said Board finds and detex~-ines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Cade of the State
of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is more
than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares a
prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five miles per hour is hereby
determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs be
placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county highway,
to wit :
EL PASO.TnTAY from EAST AVENUE to LASSEN AVENUE
Section 2: A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
' Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-

validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
five or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
II before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published

with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a
local newspaper published in. the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED ANA AAOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 15th day
of April. __, 1975, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Cameron, Richter, Madigan „McKillop and Chairman Ladd
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
