AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "S-2"
(SUBURBAN} DISTRICT
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of California under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as -amen e ,
and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN, as follows:
SECTION l~ The.~~~einafter described area situated in
the County of Butte, State of Cala.farnia,-shall be and it is here-,
by zoned as a "S-~2"- (Suburban} District for a period of l2D days,
and such area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted
uses and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located northeast of Chico,
Stilson Canyon, more particularly described as:
Beginning at the center of Sec 28, T22N, R2E, MDB&M,
east along the east-west centerline of said Sec 28,
884 ft; thence north to Little Chico Creek; thence
meandering southwesterly along Little Chico Creek
to the north-south centerline of said Sec 28; thence
along said north-south centerline N Dl0 03' 12" w,
13DD.52 ft;.thence S 760 55' 47° W, 2931.42 ft;
thence S 57055' 47" W, 424.23 ft; thence S 840 4D'
47" W, 767.5 ft; thence S 010 3$' S8" E~~to the .
east-west centerline of Sec 29, T22N, R2E, MDB&M;
thence east along said east-west centerline to the
E'~ corner of said Sec 29, thence south along the
east line of said Sec 29 to the base of a bluff
line; thence meandering northeasterly along the
base of said bluff line to the westerly line of
"S~t3,lson Canyon Subdivision" per map recorded
in Book 34 on Pages 41 and 42 of the Butte County
Recorder; thence southerly along the westerly
line of said "Stilson Canyon Subdivision" to the
east-wes.t centerline of Sec 28, T22N, R2E, MDB&M;
thence east along said centerline to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "S-2" DISTRICT:.
The following regulations shall apply in an "S--2"
District:

1 2.l USES PERMITTED:
2 a. Single-family dwellings, not including tents or

mobile homes,
4 b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted
5 area ,
6 2.2 AGRICULTURAL USES, EXCEPT LIVESTOCK SUBJECT TO THE
7 FOLLOWSNG REQUIREMENTS:
8 a. For each horse or head of cattle over one year of
9 age, eight thousand one hundred twenty-five (8,125)
10 sq. ft.
11 b. For each head of swine over ten {10) weeks of age,
12 eight thousand one hundred twenty-five (8.125) sq.
13 feet.
14 c . For each head of sheep or goats , two thousand (2 , 0 00
1S sq . ft .
16 2.3 LOT AREA:
17 Minimum required area of a lot per dwelling unit
18 shall be not Tess than one { l} acre .
19 2.4 LOT WIDTH:
20 Minimum lot width sha11 be not less than one hundrec

22 2 .5 FRONT YARD
23 Minimum front yard shall be fifty {50) feet from
24 the centerline of the road except where the road
~ is classified by the County as a Federal Aid Se-

ment shall be fifty-five {55) feet from the center-
line of said road.

Minimum side yard shall be not less than ten (10) f
SECTION 3. The following uses subject to securing a
Use Permit in each case:
a. Public and quasi--public uses, including churches .
b. Hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools, and
public utility buildings.
SECTION 4. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 5. Tn compliance with the provisions of said
Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 6. The penalities for the violation of the
zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided
in the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and
after its effective date become a supplement to and~patt of the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance .
SECTION 7. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifte~
~i~.5) days after its passage shall be published once with the
names of the members of the Board of Superv~.sors voting for and
against the same in the Chico Enterprise-Record a newspaper
in general circulation in the County of Butte, State o£ Califor-
nia. The facts constituting the urgency on which this Ordinance

is based are:
1. That the area is presently under study for rezoning.

County of Butte, State of California, on the 27th day of May, 1975
