AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEEA LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROAD WITHIN THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Cade Section 22358)
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
2 does ordain as follows:
'~ Section Said Board finds and determines that upon. the basis of an
'4 engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter-described
S comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
6 of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles per hour is more
7 than is reasonable and safe an said highway and determines and declares a
8 prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
9 That a prima facie speed limit of fifteen miles per hour is hereby
10 determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 15 MILES signs be
11 placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county highway9
12 to wit:
13 6th Street from Nelson Avenue to the North End
14 Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
15 are hereby repealed.
1$ Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
17 of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
18 validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section or term thereof,
19 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
2~ five or invalid.
21 Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
+`~2 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
23 speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
24 This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
~ before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published

with the names of the members voting far and against the same, once in a
local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTER by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 17th day
of June , 1.975, by the following vote:
.AYES: Supervisors Cameron, Richter, Madigan, McKillop and Chairman i~add

ABSENTS None
