ORDINANCE NO. 1594
AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "A-2d"
AGRICULTURAL} DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE
N0. 475, AS AMENDED.

- -The- Boar-d of Supervisors - of- the County of --Butte, State
of California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amended
and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
the County of Buttes, State of California, shall be and it ~:s here-
by zoned as an "A-20" (Agricultural} District, for a period of 9d
days, and such area shall be subject to the restrictions and
restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified and provided
Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated area of
Bute County, and mare particularly described as follows
PARCEL ONES
Beginning at the. SW corner of Sec 26, T20N, R1E, MDB&M,
said corner being 3.n Nelson West Rd; thence east along
Nelson West Rd. to the "Toumsite of Nelson" per map
recorded in Map Book 1 on Page 5$; thence northwesterly
and northeasterly along said "Town of Nelson" to Midway,
thence northwesterly along Midway to White Ave; thence
west along White Ave. to Durham Nelson Rd; thence north
along Durham Nelson Road to Hanlon Road;-thence west
along Hanlon Rd. and the westerly prolongation of Hanlon
Rd. to the north-south centerline of Sac 36, T21N, R1E,
MDB&M; thence north along the north-south cente cline of
Sec 36, T21N, R1E, MDB.&M, to the SW corner of "R.M.
Turner 1st Sub", per map recorded in Map Book 1 on Page
46; thence north along the west line of said "R.M.
Turner 1st Sub" a distance of 3.526.91 feat; thence west
a distance of 266 .64 ft. to "Burdick Road" ; thence nortf
along Burdick Rd. to the 5W corner of Lot 4, "R .M.
Turner's 2nd Sub", per map recorded in-.Map- Book "B" on
Page 10; thence continuing north along the west line of
said "R.M. Turner's 2nd Sub" to the Dayton-Durham Rd;
thence along the "Dayton-Durham Rd", easterly, northerly
and nvrtheaste~ly to Midway; thence northerly along Mid-
way to a point on the easterly line of Tract 3 , T21N,
R2E, MDB&M, as del~.neated on the U. S. Government plat
of said Township, whi~~h, point, is in the center of Midway

also being the SE corner of said Tract 3; thence
meandering southwesterly along_ the centerl~.ne a L? tt e
Butte Creek to a point located. S 200 41' E, and 1773.6
ft. distant from the east corner~:.of Lot 13 of "Bruce
Tract" per map of re card in Map Book 8 on Pg. 15, in
the Office of Butte County Recorder, thence continuing
S 200 41' E, 113.07 ft; thence S 550 50' W, 1666.75 ft.
to the 'SPRR right-of-way; thence continuing SW to the
centerline of said SPRR right-of-way, thence north-
westerly along the SPRR centerline to Edgar Slough;
thence southwesterly along Edgar Slough to the center-
line of Dayton Rd; thence southwesterly and southerly
along Dayton Rd . and Goodspeed-Watt Rd . to the STn~ come
of Sec 22, T20N, R1E, MDB&M; thence east along the soot
line of said Sec 22 to the corner common to Sec 22, 23,
26 & 27 all in T20N, R~,E, thence south to the SW carnet
of said Sec 26, the point of beginna.ng.
Containing 32.5 sq. miles, more or less.
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-20" DISTRICT.
The following regulations shall apply in an "A-20"
District:
2.1 USES PER~4iTTED:
a. Single-family dwellings, including mobile homes.
b. General agriculture farming, horticulture, commer-
cial livestock, paultry production, growing and
harvesting forestry products, warehousing and
storage.
c. Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the per-
mitted uses ,':including agricultural processing
plants.
d. Housing facilities (including trailers) to accoma-
date only employees and their families employed
by the owner or operator of the premises; and pro-

vided further that such hous?ng facility shall be
considered accessory to the main building and shall
oonform to the provisions pertaining-to required
yard and open space for dwellings .
e. Mining, quarrying, commercial excavation and wood
processing plants.
f. Hunting and fishing camps, including those which
accommodate recreational vehicles and travel trail-
ers providing that said recreational vehicles and
travel trailers shall not be used for year-round
occupancy.
2.2 MINIMUM LOT A~2EA REQTdIRED:
Minimum lot area shall not be les s than twenty ( 2 0 }
acres.
2 .3 FRONT YARD SETBACK
Minimum front yard setback shall be fifty (50) feet
from the centerline of the road, except where the
road is classified by the County as a Federal Aid
Secondary Road, the minimum building setback requir -
ments shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the center
line of the road .
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same i.s hereby amended by adding
this ordinance in full.

1 SECTION 5. The penalt~.es for the violation of the
2 zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
3 the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and
4 after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
5 Zoning Enabling Ordinance .
6 SECTION 6. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
7 immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fif-
8 teen (15) days after its passage shall be published once with the
9 names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and
la against the same in the- Chico_Enterprise-Record , a news-
11 paper in general circulation in the County of Butte, State of
12 Cal~.forn~.a. The facts constituting the urgency on which this
13 ordinance is based are
14 1. That the area is presently under study for rezoning,
15 2. To be more consistent with the present land use.

17 County of Butte, State of California, on the l7th day of June,
18 1975, by the following vote:
