The Board of Supervisors of the Butte County DO ORDAIN as
follows:
Section 1 That because of the recent earthquakes in t e
Butte County area this Board finds that it is in the best interest
of the public to provide immediate relief to members of the public
from certain permit fees for damages sustained to structures during
recent earthquakes.
Section 2 Fees for all permits required by the Butte
County Code for repair to or replacement of any structure damaged
by earthquake are waived. This ordinance shall be effective only
from August 5 , 1975 through .February 5 , -~~-5 . ~971a- ~~'
Section 3. Because of the temporary effect of this ordi-
nance it shall not be included within, the Butte County Code, howe
this ordinance shall prevail notwithstanding any provision to the
contrary in the Butte County Code.
Section 4 This ordinance is an ordinance for the immediat
!preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and shall
take effect immediately in accordance with §25123 of the Government
Code of the State of California. The facts constituting the
urgency on which this ordinance is based are:
1. The unexpected occurance of several earthquakes have
caused a severe economic burden upon the citizens of Butte County,
most of whom were uninsured or inadequately insured to meet this
particular disaster. The Board of Supervisors also wish to en-
courage all citizens to utilize the inspection services afforded
County Departments.
