RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING
EMPLOYMENT AND ELIGIBILITY STAFF WEEK If JANUARY 25,2016
IN BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Employment and Eligibility Professionals enrich the lives of individuals by helping mitigate social,
environmental, economic and psychological employment barriers; and
WHEREAS, Employment Professionals helped customers secure housing and other employment related needs, while
dealing with complex state and federal regulations;and
WHEREAS, in 2015 Employment Professionals worked with local employers to employ 232 individuals being served by
the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids(CalVi/ORKs)program; and
WHEREAS, in 2015, Employment Professionals worked with a continuing caseload of over 1,000 customers each month
to guide them toward the path of self-sufficiency and to help them cultivate resiliency; and
WHEREAS, Eligibility Professionals are responsible for determining initial and continuing eligibility for a variety of
public assistance programs which include the Affordable Care Act and expanded Medi-Cal, CalFresh,CalWORKs, and
General Assistance; and
WHEREAS, in 2015, Eligibility Professionals supported on average over 55,500 individuals each month,an increase of
12,000 individuals from 2014,by processing and maintaining benefits that provided medical care, housing, food and shelter;
and
WHEREAS, Eligibility Professionals provide courteous and compassionate service to a diverse population faced with the
challenges of not having sufficient resources to provide for their needs and the needs of their families; and
WHEREAS,the aforementioned is possible because Employment and Eligibility Professionals are assisted, supported,
and trained in the performance of their duties by skilled managerial and supervisory staff; and
WHEREAS, it is important that all citizens of Ilutte County honor Employment and Eligibility Professionals who serve
our county residents with competence and compassion.
NOW,THEREFORE, 1E IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the County honors its
Employment and Eligibility Professionals, Supervisors, and Administrative Support staff by proclaiming the week of January
25,2015 as Employment and Eligibility Staff Recognition Week in Butte County.
