':44./AlAmme ogAiko ';wdidd4 11/4kAatt:WJA",,,,?4,,AWAMI,AMV:44;10:6,04, .,NYE ,,r,/ dr,,,JAI/x,W4&',1,VAI,dhgz6,.d'4/da;idag'4A(X,,ia 41414"Arl'rlY;;4Z46,14411 'llzir)17r)!,1101V,1)11,40 V'gr Resolution No. 16-029 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF TAYLOR CENTER WHEREAS, the Peg Taylor Center is celebrating its 30th anniversary of service to the citizens of Butte County, and the founding of the Peg Taylor Center was inspired by a dedicated Public Health Nurse, Professor Margaret "Peg" Taylor, RN, PHN, whose leadership and vision led to the establishment of the Center named in her honor; and WHEREAS, the Peg Taylor Center is one of the first adult day health care programs in California designed to serve a rural county, and has contributed extensively to the creation of state- wide standards for excellence; and WHEREAS, countless volunteer hours and community contributions enabled the Peg Taylor Center to open its doors in March, 1986, and more than 60,000 volunteer hours have been contributed to enrich the lives of the Center's participants since that time; and WHEREAS, the !.eg Taylor Center celebrates and supports family members caring for their loved ones, and research has affirmed that programs like the Peg Taylor Center actively improve the health of both caregivers and participants and alleviate caregiver stress; and 1.•.EREAS, adults who have experienced health crises can utilize the Peg Taylor Center to sustain their recovery from illness and accident through continuing rehabilitation, nursing support and physical, occupational and speech therapies, enabling them to regain independence; and Witl.REAS, the Peg Taylor Center's dedicated Board, staff, volunteers, participants and their families have joined together to uphold Peg's vision of a lively community of support to ensure that adults with health challenges can receive needed care and health services in a safe and fulfilling setting, while enjoying friendship, laughter and companionship, avoiding the isolation that can result from chronic illness; and WHEREAS, the Peg Taylor Center continues to achieve its compassionate mission because of a shared vision of improved care created among state and local government agencies, health and social service organizations, schools, faith communities, civic organizations, and the medical and business community. NOW, T 'EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors, does hereby recognize the Peg Taylor Center as a treasured community asset and call upon all citizens, community agencies and organizations, medical facilities, and businesses to foster greater awareness of the Peg Taylor Center's services for those who can benefit.
