HomeMy WebLinkAbout16-055 0,4ii 'ik ,yfiy2104,11:, ;Oti/e,/,%/4"/ >,,P),• e)7 /1/4/fri o 5/7 , !IIiMq)j,/1,;viE4.01,/06 Resolution No. 16-055 qiit ,11* RESOLUTION IN HONOR OF Fr lBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK WHEREAS,Americans are served every single day by public servants at the federal, state,and local levels; and WHEREAS, locally, public employees make great contributions to their communities by serving in areas such as law enforcement, health care, fire protection, resource conservation, land use matters, and road maintenance; and WHEREAS, public employees take not only jobs, but oaths to serve and protect; and WHEREAS,public servants working for Butte County include deputies and accountants,attorneys, nurses,doctors, probation officers, scientists, safety inspectors, fire fighter, computer technicians, laborers, social workers, animal control officers, counselors, and countless other occupations. Day in and day out they provide diverse services demanded by the residents of Butte County with efficiency and integrity; and WHEREAS, public employees of the county are committed to exhibiting the highest standards of excellence, dedication, creativity, and are an integral part of improving the quality of life in our County by being responsive to the needs of citizens; and WHEREAS, the effectiveness and efficiency of government depend on public employees; and WHEREAS, Butte County recognizes the dedication and talents of public employees and the importance of the services they provide to our residents; and WHEREAS, the County's Leadership Academy is launching an initiative to highlight the work of individual employees through a series of employee profiles that will recognize the tremendous work they do to serve residents; and WHEREAS,County departments recognize their employees individually and through group events throughout the year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, Butte County Board of Supervisors, hereby recognize the week of May 1 May 7, 2016 is Public Service Recognition Week; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, residents are encouraged to recognize and express their appreciation for vital contributions made daily by public employees, not only in the County, but at all levels of government—federal,state, and local, PASSER AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 26th day of April, 2016 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors VVa hi, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter and Chair Connelly NOES: None ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None ,ove I/ BILL CONNELLY, Chair, o„ ;Late County Board of Supervisors ATTEST: By: PAUL HAHN, Qblef Administrative Officer and Clerk of the Ba rd of Supervisors
