RESOU TION RECOGNIZING THE
11TH ANNUAL PARADISE C :,OCOLATE FEST
WHEREAS,the 11th Annual Paradise Chocolate Fest will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 9 a.m.to
5 pm. at Terry Ashe Park on the Skyway in Paradise; and
WHEREAS,the Paradise Chocolate Fest was honored at the California State fair as one of the "Top Food
Festivals" in the state. The Fest is also a past winner of two international awards at the Retail Confectioners
International Chocolatiers Convention and Expo held in Hershey, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the 2015 Paradise Chocolate Fest attracted more than 5,000 attendees; and
WHEREAS, this year's Chocolate Fest promises a dazzling extravaganza of chocoliciously delightful and
delicious family fun for all. Most importantly, proceeds raised from the Chocolate Fest provide vital funds for
youth programs in our community; and
WHEREAS, Paradise Chocolate Fest leaders have announced that twenty-one organizations that provide
educational,enrichment,leadership and recreational opportunities to youth on the Paradise Ridge will benefit
from the"sweet rewards"of this year's Fest,These vital funds support music and academic programs,provide
scholarships to summer camp, dance classes, youth leadership training, sports equipment, community food
banks and much more; and
WHEREAS, over 300 people in the Paradise community will volunteer for this year's Fest„ Supporting
youth on the Ridge doesn't get much sweeter.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Butte County Board of Supervisors encourages all County
residents to help support non-profit youth organizations while enjoying the Paradise Chocolate Fest on May
7, 2016.
