RESOLUTION INCREASING THE CHANGE FUNDS FOR THE BUTTE COUNTY LIBRARY
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors determined that for the efficient operation of the
department of the Library, Change Funds are necessary; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 29320 ET. Seq. provides for the establishment and
maintenance of such Change Funds in amounts to be determined by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS,the daily volume of providing customers change has increased, and as such Resolution No.07435
adopted on August 14, 2007, approving and authorizing Change Funds in the cumulative amount of $150 is now
insufficient for the proper administration of the department; and
WHEREAS„ both the County Librarian and the Auditor believe that an increase would be beneficial to the
efficient operation of the Libraries and allow for better cash handling practices and procedures, and therefore
mutually support the request for the increase.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Butte County Board of Supervisors:
1. That there is determined to be a necessity for an increase of the Change Funds in the Butte County
Library. The Library Funds will increase from $150 to $210. An increase of$60.
2. That certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor and County
Treasurer.
3. That the Chief Administrative Officer is instructed pursuant to Section 29323 of the California
Government Code to amend by endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the county to be
conditioned in addition to its other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the Change Funds,
and upon the willingness and ability of the principal for whom such funds have been established to
account for and pay over the funds upon demand of the Board of Supervisors at any time.
4. That the Auditor of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant in the
sum of Sixty Dollars ($60) in favor of the Library of the County of Butte from the County General
Funds,for deposit of$60 in the Butte County Library Change Fund.
5. That the County Librarian or his/her designee will account for the Change Funds in accordance with
Government Code Section 29390 et. seq., and will periodically verify the amounts in the Funds when
requested by the Auditor-Controller or the Board of Supervisors.
