RESOL :TION DECLARING MAY 2016 AS FOSTER CAE MONTl
WHEREAS, the family, serving as the primary source of love, identity, self-esteem and support, is the
very foundation of our community; and
WHEREAS, in tutte County there are over 500 children and youth in foster care being provided with
safe, secure, and stable homes with compassionate and nurturing foster families and relatives; and
WHEREAS, the success of our country tomorrow depends on the well-being of our children today; and
WHEREAS, foster youth deserve the security and strong support structures they need to achieve their
dreams; and
WHEREAS, with open hearts, foster, kinship and adoptive families and professionals work each day to
give foster youth the resources, warmth, and care they need; and
WHEREAS, the theme of National Foster Care Month 2016 is "Honoring, Uniting and Celebrating
Families."
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby declare
the month of May 2016, as Foster Care Month in Butte County and urge all citizens to come forward and do
something positive that will help change the lives of children and youth in foster care:
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 24th day of May, 2016, by the
following vote:
