Seq.) EREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California has determined that for the efficient operation of the Sheriffs Office, the establishment of a Revolving Fund was necessary to provide a source of funding to pay for the transportation of prisoners; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors established such a Revolving Fund in the amount of $1,000 on, March 5, 1951, pursuant to Section 29320 et, Seq. of the Government code of the State of California; and WIIEREAS, in 1991 the amount of that Revolving Fund was increased to $20,000 by Resolution No. 91- 43; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 99-02 provided that the total amount available for the purposes of the Sheriff's Extradition Revolving Fund be$50,000. The funding was provided through a combination of the Sheriff's Revolving Fund in the form of a checking account in the amount of $20,000 and a Sheriff's Extradition Trust in the County Treasury in the amount of$30,000; and WHEREAS, financing was tight, the Board funded the Sheriff's Extradition Trust Fund in the amount of $15,000 with B-415 dated 6/22/99; and WHEREAS, on April 9, 2002 the Board approved a budget transfer in the amount of $15,000 from the Appropriation for Contingencies to the Extradition Trust Fund; and V'VHEEAS, on January 13, 2004 the Board approved a transfer from the General Fund Appropriation for Contingencies to the Extradition Trust Fund in the amount of $30,000 with B-163 dated 1/16/2004; and WHEREAS, o, May 8„ 2007 approved a transfer to the extradition account in the amount of$40,000 with B-388 dated 5/8/2007; and WHEREAS, the money that was moved into the Sheriff's Extradition Trust Fund has been expensed through the years; and WHEREAS, the State of California reimbursements were recognized in General Fund, Fund Balance; and WHEREAS, on August 14, 2007 a transfer was made from the Sheriff's Extradition Trust Fund to the General Fund in the amount of$35,014.21 with j-218 dated 8/14/2007; and WHEREAS, the 8/14/2007 transfer closed the Sheriff's Extradition Trust Fund; and WHEREAS, improved efficiencies in managing extradition expenses have eliminated the need for the Sheriff's Revolving Fund checking account; and WHEREAS, the Auditor-Controller recommends terminating that Revolving Fund. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors, as follows: 1. That in order to reduce the risk, it is necessary to terminate the Sheriff's Extradition Revolving Fund. 2. That this Fund is established and discontinued in accordance with Section 29320 et. seq. of the Government Code of the State of California, and that certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor and the County Treasurer. 3. The Sheriff of the County of Butte will draw a warrant in the amount of $15,034.88 in favor of Butte County General Fund for the purpose of terminating the Extradition Fund.
