RESOLUTION DESIGNATING FRIENDS OF THE ARTS, A PROGRAM OF THE 501C3 UPSTATE COMMUNITY
ENHANCEMENT FOUNDATION,AS THE LOCAL PARTNER FOR THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL'S
STATE/LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Butte County has previously, on March 23, 2004, May 24, 2011, and June 10, 2014,
designated Friends of the Arts-Butte County as the local partner for the California Arts Council's State/Local
Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, Butte County would be eligible for the State art funds,should the County have an arts council
that meets funding criteria of the California Arts Council's State/Local Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Arts, a program of the 501c3 Upstate Community Enhancement Foundation,
has applied for funds on behalf of Butte County upon receiving the Board's designation in past years; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Arts is eligible to apply for funds, and has shown the desire and motivation
to merit being granted the title of Butte County's Arts Council.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Butte County Board of Supervisors does hereby designate
Friends of the Arts as the local partner for the California Arts Council's State/Local Partnership Program for fiscal
years 2016-17 and 2017-18.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 26th day of July, 2016, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisor Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter and Chair Connelly
