RESOLUTION INCREASING THE CHANGE FUNDS FOR THE
BUTTE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE RECORDS BUREAU
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors determined that, for the efficient operation of the
department of the Sheriff's Office, Change Funds are necessary; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 29320 et, seq, provides for the establishment and
maintenance of such Change Funds in amounts to be determined by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the daily volume of providing customers change has increased, and as such Resolution No.
86-48 approving and authorizing Change Funds in the cumulative amount of$75 and Resolution No. 05-075
adopted May 25, 2005, authorizing an increase in Change Funds to a cumulative total of$300.00, is now
insufficient for the proper administration of the department; and
WHEREAS, both the Sheriff's Office and the Auditor-Controller believe that an increase would be
beneficial to the efficient operation of the County Sheriff's Office and allow for better cash handling practices
and procedures, and therefore mutually support the request for the increase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, as follows:
1. That there is determined to be a necessity for an increase of the Change Funds in the County
Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office Records Bureau will increase from $300 to $500.
2. That certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor-Controller and the
County Treasurer.
3. That the Chief Administrative Officer is instructed pursuant to Section 29323 of the California
Government Code to amend the endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the County to be
conditioned in addition to its other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the Change Funds
and upon the willingness and ability of the principal for whom such funds have been established to
account for and pay over the funds upon demand of the Board of Supervisors at any time.
4. That the Auditor-Controller of the County of Butte herby authorized and directed to draw a warrant
in the sum of$200 in favor of the Sheriff's Office of the County of Butte from the County General
Fund, for deposit to the Sheriff's Office Records Bureau Change Fund.
5. That the County Sheriff or his/her designee will account for the Change Funds in accordance with
Government Code Section 29390 et. Seq. and will periodically verify the amounts in the funds when
requested by the Auditor-Controller or the Board of Supervisors.

the following votes:
