RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
DISBANDING THE TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX(TOT) ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, on February 23, 1993, the Board of Supervisors directed that a committee be
formed to explore optional uses of the County Transient Occupancy Tax for the enhancement of
tourism; and
WHEREAS,the Transient Occupancy Tax Advisory Committee was formed with the Treasurer-Tax
Collector as Chairman, three (3) members of Chambers of Commerce, three (3) County/City residents
who were paying in to the program at that time,and one (1) representative each from the Administrative
Office, County Counsel and the Association of Cities; and
WHEREAS, appointments were not required to be made by the Board of Supervisors, though the
Committee formation was directed by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the County receives less than $20,000 per year, which is used to fund the County's
State Capital display; and
WHEREAS, records reflect that the Committee has not been active since the 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors resolves that the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT)
Advisory Committee is no longer necessary and is disbanded.
