AN ORDTNANCF ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CFRTATN ROADS~'dTTHIN THE
COUNTY OF .BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Section 22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
'~ does ordain as follows:
Section is Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of
an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County high~rayshereinafter--
described comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code
of the State of California, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles
per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines
and declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highwaysas

That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established and the SPEED LIMIT 35
MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described
caunt,y highways, to wit
SHELnON AVENUE from State Highway 99 to Larkin Road
LARKIN ROAD Exam Prather Road to the Sutter-Butte canal crossing.
Section 2: A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, part s,provisions, sections and
terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable,
and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section or
term thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render
the same inoperative or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public 't~,~orks of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima
facie speed limit established herein, within thirty (3O) days of the
adoption hereof.

This ordinance shah. take effect thirty {30) days after its passages
and before the expiration of fifteen (15~ days after its passage, it shall
be published. with the names of the members voting for and against the same,
once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
California.
PASSND AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting $tereof on the 25th day
of November , 1975, by t]ne following vote:
