AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "S-2"
(SUBURBAN) DISTRICT
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
2 _of .Calif.ornia,.-.under. and. pursuant to.._.Ordinance. No. 475, as. _. _ ..
3 amended, and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN, as follows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
b the County of ButtA, State of California, shall be and it is
6 hQreby zoned as an "S-2" (Suburban} District for a period. of 240
~ days and such area shall be subject to the restrictions and res-
$ tricted uses and regulations hereinaftAr specified and provided,
~ Said area sa zoned being located in northwest Chico,
10 and more particularly described as follows:
11 Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 1
of "Ew'ans Tract" per map of retard in Map Book 3
12 on Page 67 of the Butte County Recorder thence
southwesterly along the northwesterly boundaries
13 of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, of said "vans Tract" and con-
tinuing southwesterly along the northwesterly
14 boundary of Lot 13 of "Bay Tract Noo 1" per map
of record in Map Book 1 on Page 18 to the centpr-
15 line of Bay Ave; thence northwesterly along the
centerline of Bay Aveo to its intersection with
18 ~ the south line of SPC. $, T22N, R1 E, MDB&1'!; thence
west on said south line of Sec 8 to the SW corner
17 of said Sec 8; thence south along the section line

thence meandering northeasterly along Mud Creek to

The following regulations shall apply in an "5--2~r
District
201 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwellings, not including tents or.

2.2 AGRICULTURAL USES, ~CEPT LIVESTOCK SUBJECT TO THE I~

a. Far each horse or head of cattle over one year of
age, eight thousand one hundred twenty-five

203 LOT AREA:
Minimum required area of a lot per dwelling unit
shall be not less than one (1) acres
204 LOT WIDTH:
Minimum lot width shall be not less than one

205 FRONT YARD:
Minimum front yard shall be fifty (50) feet from

SECTION 3. The fol~:owing uses subject to securing a
use permit in each case:
a. Public and quasi-public uses, including churches.

SECTION 5o In compliance with the provisions of said

Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding

SECTION bo The penalties for the violation of the
Izoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided
in the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from- and
after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 7. This urgency ordinance shall take effect

immediatAly upon its passage, and bef ore the expiration of
fifteen {15} days,,.. after its passage shall be published once with
the names of tha rt~p~nbers of the Board of Supervisors voting for- --
and against the same in the Chico EnterpriseRecord_,, a newspaper
in general circulation in the County of Butte, State of California.
The facts constituting the urgency on which this Ordinance is
based are:
1. To protect the health and safety of the public.
2. There is presently a zoning proposal being preparedo
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 10th day of February,
1976, by the following vot~±:
