CENTERVILLE AND NIMSHEW ROADS FIRE FUELS REDUCTION PROJECT CALFIRE GRANT AWARD
WHEREAS,The Butte County Department of Public Works applied for a fire fuels reduction grant with
the State of California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE) to reduce fire fuels along
approximately 10 miles of the County's rights-of-way on Centerville, Hellltown, Nimshew, and Humbug Roads;
and
WHEREAS, CALFIRE selected the County's project to be funded by the Fire Prevention Fee collected
within the State Responsibility Area (SRA); and
WHEREAS, CALFIRE requires the governing body of the local agency accept the Fire Prevention Fund
grant in the amount of$55,370 and approve authority to execute the grant documents.
NO"VPU”,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors:
1. That the Centerville and Nimshew Roads Fire Fuels Reduction Project Grant award by the State of
California Fire Prevention Fund is accepted.
2. That the Director of Public works is authorized to execute related grant documents on behalf of
the County of Butte.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 24x" day of January, 2017,. by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisor Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter, and Chair Connelly
