RESOLUTION DISBANDING THE AGRICULTURAL ADVISORY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, on May 10, 1977, the Board of Supervisors established the Agricultural Advisory Commission
(Commission) pursuant to Resolution 77-79 to advise to the Board on agricultural matters and to assist in the
development of agricultural policies; and
WHEREAS, the Commission was also tasked to study issues in depth, hold public hearings as necessary,
perform research data collecting necessary and helpful information for the Board, and provide the Board with
reasons to support any decisions or recommendations made; and
WHEREAS, the Commission reviewed the concerns of the agricultural industry in Butte County,
defending problems and suggesting solutions to the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Commission also acted as a liaison between local agencies/organizations and the Board
of Supervisors; and''.
WHEREAS, records reflect that the Commission has not been active since 2008 and the Agricultural
Commissioner requests that the Agricultural Advisory Commission be disbanded.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors resolves that the Agricultural Advisory Commission is
disbanded.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 28th day of February, 2017 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter, and Chair Connelly
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
