RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE FRIENDS OF THE ALTS,A PROGRAM OF THE UPSTATE COMMUNITY
ENHANCEMENT FOUNDATION,AS THE LOCAL PARTNER FOR THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL'S
STATE/LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Butte County designated the Friends of the Arts-Butte County as the local partner for the
California Arts Council's State/Local Partnership Program in 2004, 2011, 2014, and 2016; and
WHEREAS, Butte County would be eligible for State art funds should the County have an arts council
that meets funding criteria of the California Arts Councill's State/Local Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts, a program of the Upstate Community (Enhancement Foundation,
has applied for funds on behalf of Butte County uipon receiving the Board's designation in past years; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts is eligible to apply for funds, and has shown the desire and
motivation to merit being granted the title of Butte County's Arts Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby designates
Friends of the Arts-Butte County as the local partner for the California Arts Council's State/Local Partnership
Program for fiscal years October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018, and October 1, 2018 through September
30, 2019.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 25th day of July, 2017, by the
following vote
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Kirk, (Lambert, Teeter, and Chair Connelly
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
