HomeMy WebLinkAbout17-139 / r r Ir / Resolution No. 17-13:5 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING WORKPLACE GIVING CAMPAIGN IN COLLABORATION WITH UNITED WAY OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, Butte County is one of the major counties served by the United Way of Northern California whose mission is to fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in the community; and WHEREAS, Butte County elects to include a pledge option to designate that all voluntary donations made by employees remain invested solely in Butte County to projects and initiatives supported by the United Way of Northern California; and WHEREAS, Butte County does not determine which local programs will benefit from County employee donations; the United Way of Northern California is responsible for the dletermination; and WHEREAS,on July 14, 2017,the United Way of Northern California approved its Butte County-supported projects and initiatives, which include the United Way's Gay of Action, the Community Action 'Volunteers in Education (CAVE) Program, Rape Crisis Intervention and Prevention of (Butte County, the Boy Scouts Golden Empire Council, the Hmong Cultural Center of Butte County, the Torres Community Shelter, and Hellp Central 21.1- Butte County; and WHEREAS, the United Way of Northern California agrees to lead the workplace giving campaign including providing informational documents, fliers, email templates, and any other requested materials, as well as to attend County-sponsored events to answer questions and help promote the campaign; and WHEREAS, Butte County agrees to help facilitate the campaign and promote it internally in collaboration with United Way of Northern California when appropriate. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby approve the United Way of Northern California Workplace Giving Campaign for employees of Butte County.
