Resolution No. 17-168
RESOLUTION INCREASING THE CHANGE FUNDS FOR THE BUTTE COUNTY LIBRARY
(Government Code Section 29230 et.Seq.)
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors determined that for the efficient operations of the department
of the Library, Change Funds are necessary; and
WHEREAS, California Government Coded Section 29320 Et. Seq. provides for the establishment and maintenance
of such Change funds in amounts to be determined by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the daily volume of providing customers change has increased, and as such Resolution No. 07-135
adopted on August 14, 2007, approving and authorizing Change Funds is now insufficient for the proper administration
of the department; and
WHEREAS,the recent internal audit of the Paradise Branch resulted in a finding of excess cash in the amount of$50;
and
WHEREAS, both the County Librarian and the Auditor believe that an increase would be beneficial to the efficient
operation of the (Libraries, and therefore mutually support the request for the increase.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors, as follows:
1. That there is determined to be a necessity for an increase of the Change Funds in the Butte County Library. The
Library Funds will increase from $210 to $260, an increase of$50.
2. That this Fund is established and increased in accordance with Section 29320 et.Seq'I,. of the Government Code
of the State of California.
3. That the County Librarian or his/her designee will account for the Change Funds in accordance with Government
Code Section 29390 et,seq.,and will periodically verify the amount in the Funds when requested by the Auditor-
Controller or the Board of Supervisors.
4, The Library of the County of Butte—Paradise Branch is hereby directed to combine the excess$50 cash on hand
with the current active change fund.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 101” day of October, 2017, by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Lambert, Teeter, and Vice Chair Kirk
NOES: None
ABSENT:Chair Connelly Maur e n Kirk,Vice'Cha
NOT VOTING: None Butte County Board of Supervisors
