Resolution No. 17-189
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF REAL PROPERTY FROM THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
TO THE NORTH VALLEY ANIMAL DISASTER GROUP
WHEREAS,the County of Butte purchased the real property identified as Assessor's Parcel Number 005-247-003,
with a physical address of 1951 Locust Street, Chico,California 95928 ("Property") in 71923 and 1948 respectively,with
the intent to maintain and store public works equipment; and
WHEREAS, on February 23, 2016, the Board of Supervisors accepted a Special Use/Vacant Facilities Report as
presented by the General Services Department. Included in that report was the Property which was determined to be
functionally obsolete and surplus to the needs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on September 8, 2016,. the General Services Department received a letter of interest from the North
Valley Animal Disaster Group; a 501(c)(3) California Public Benefit Corporation expressed desire to acquire the Property
"As is,Where Is"for$1.00 plus closing costs to use the Property for a location the group will use to store rescue trailers,
and emergency supplies; and
WHEREAS, North Valley Animal Disaster Group's intended use would provide a much needed benefit to the
citizens of the County of Butte,
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the request from North Valley Animal Disaster Group to purchase the Property;
2. Convey the Property pursuant to CA GC§25365(a) upon the price and terms herein stated; and
3. Authorize the Director of General Services, or his designee, to execute all documents necessary to
convey the Property and close the escrow.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 14"'day of November, 2017, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter, and Chair Connelly
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
