Resolution No. 17-201
RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS
UNDER THE HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT(NAVA)OF 2002
WHEREAS, the United States Congress has appropriated funding for the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA);
and
WHEREAS, the California Secretary of State has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the
HAVA funds, setting up necessary procedures for allocation of those funds; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Secretary of State require the County to certify by
resolution, the approval of application(s) and contracts before submission of said application(s) and contracts to the
California Secretary of State.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby:
1. Approves the filing and execution of applications and contracts for financial assistance for the purpose of
fulfilling duties and responsibilities to be funded from funds provided under the HAVA; and
2, Certifies the County understands the assurances and certification in the application or contract; and
3. Certifies the County has reviewed and understands the funding application or terms of the contract; and
4. Appoints the County Clerk-Recorder or his/her designee as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and
submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, contracts, payment requests, and other
documentation, which may be necessary for the execution of the duties and responsibilities under the
HAVA..
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 12"day of December,2017, by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Lambert,Teeter, and Vice Chair Kirk
NOES:. None
ABSENT:Supervisor Connelly
NOT VOTING: None
