Resolution No. 17-205
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DISTRICT ATTORNEY
TO UNDERTAKE WORKERS' COMPENSATION I INSURANCE FRAUD PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors desires to undertake a certain program designated
as the Workers' Compensation Insurance Fraud Program to be funded in part from funds made available
through the California Insurance Code section 1872,83, California Code of Regulations, Title 10, section
2698.55 et seq. and administered by the California Department of Insurance.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the
District,Attorney to submit a proposal to the California Department of Insurance and authorizes the District
Attorney to execute, on behalf of the County of Butte, a grant award agreement, and other related and
required grant documentation, including any extension or amendments thereof, and
IT IS AGREED that any liability arising mut of the performance of the Grant Award Agreement, including
civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency.
The State of California and the California Department of Insurance disclaim responsibility for any such liability;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant
expenditures controlled by this body.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 12th day of December, 2017, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Lambert, Teeter, and Vice-Chair Kirk
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Connelly
