HomeMy WebLinkAbout17-208 r 4v, r, S ., ,,, /1 /� / ////,ol/ / //, /� !/„1i /,, /,/ ii, D /lean ,/// / r/ ! /,/„ ,��, ,✓ p f l + l I M ✓ f� r Resolution No. 17-208 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING PASTOR DAVID SWEET AND RON HALL FOR THEIR VOLUNTEER SERVICE WITH THE BUTTE COUNTY TOY RUN WHEREAS, December 2017 celebrates the 30'year of the annual Butte County Toy Run, which began in 1988 as a grass roots effort within the motorcycle community to help needy children in Butte County; and WHEREAS, Pastor Leave Sweet and Ron Hall co-founded the non-profit organization Butte County Toy Run in 1995; and WHEREAS, Butte County Toy Run provides gifts at Christmas time and on birthdays to needy children in Butte County; and WHEREAS, Butte County Toy Run assists foster children throughout the year with accessing extracurricular activities, school clothes, and other needed items; and WHEREAS, Pastor Lave Sweet has volunteered as President and Ron Hall has volunteered as Treasurer on the Butte County Toy Run Board of Directors since its inception; and WHEREAS, Pastor Dave Sweet and Ron Hall's commitment to the Butte County Toy Run has increased' participation from 30 participants the first year to over 500 riders annually; and WHEREAS, Pastor Dave Sweet and the congregation of Calvary Chapel Church in Magalia have donated food, drinks, and a warm welcoming place for the toy run to conclude for the past thirty years; and WHEREAS, Ron Hall, past owner of Hall's Harley Davidson in Chico, has generously donated) merchandise for raffle prizes. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Butte County, extends its appreciation for your many years of dedicated service.
