Resolution No. 17-209
RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF LARRY VANCE, GENERAL SERVICES SUPERINTENDENT,
UPON HIS REITREMENT FROM BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Larry Vance, Butte County Generall Services Superintendent; announced his retirement effective
December 15, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Larry began his career with Butte County on January 4, 1952, as a Building Crafts Work II in the
Public'Works Department; and
WHEREAS, Larry was promoted to Supervisor, Building and Crafts on April 27, 1991,within the Administration
Department; and
'W'HEREAS, Larry was promoted to his current position of Superintendent, Facilities Services on October 2,
1999; and
WHEREAS, Larry was instrumental in developing systems and process for both routine and major maintenance
facilities projects to the benefit of all County departments; and
WHEREAS, Larry has always been able to bring stability in difficult situations by understanding the past but
driving process improvement for a better future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby wishes to express appreciation for
his dedication, spanning decades, in managing County facilities in an effort to assist all County departments to carry
out their mission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 12z' day of December, 2017, by the
following vote:.
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Lambert,Teeter, and Vice-Chair Kirk
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Connelly
NOT VOTING: None
