ORDINANCE NO. 1741
AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "S-R-1" (SUBURBAN
RESIDENTTAL) DTSTRTCT
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amend
and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
hereby zoned as an "S-R~-1" (Suburban-Residential) District for
a period of 120 days, and such area sh al1 be subject to the
restrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter
specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located in Paradise, mare
particularly described as follows:
The SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec 24,
T22N, R3E, MDBF~M (also) all of "Fernwaod Orchard
Sub Annex" per map of record in Map Baok 18 an
Pages 1 and 2 of the Butte County Recorder.
Containing 26 acres , more or less .
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "S-R-1" DISTRICT:
The following regulations sha11 apply in a "S-R-1"
:District:
2 .1 USES PERMITTED
a. Single-family dwellings, not including tents or
mobile homes.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted
uses .
2.2 AGRICULTURAL USES, EXCEPT LIVESTOCK SUBJECT TO
THE FOLLO~NING REQUIREMENTS
a. For each horse or head of cattle over ane~-year of

age, eight thousand one hundred twenty-five (x,125)

b. For each head of swine over ten (10) weeks of age,

sq. ft. '
2.3 LOT AREA:
Minimum xequxred area of a lot per dwe~.ling unit
shall be not less than one (1) acre.
2 .4 LOT FVI DTH
Minimum lot width sha11 be not less than one hundre
thirty (130) feet.
2 .5 FRONT YARD
Minimum front yard shall be fifty (50) feet from
the centerline of the road except where the road
is classified by the County as a Federal Aid Secon-
dary Road, the minimum building setback sha11 be
fifty five (55) feet from the centerline of the
road.
2.6 SIDE YARD:
Minimum side yard shall be not less than ten (10) f ,
SECTION 3. The following uses subject to securing a
Use Permit in each case:

1 a. Public and quasi-public uses, including churches.
2 b. Hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools, and
3 pub 1 is ut i 1 ity buildings .
4 c. Golf courses and country clubs.
5 SECTION 4. All uses of land within the district not
6 specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
7: SECTION S. in compliance with the provisions of said
8 zoning En~.bling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding
9 this Ordinance in full.
10 SECTION 6. The penalties far the violation of the
11 zoning hereby impaled within' the district shall be as provided
12 in the zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and
13 after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
14 Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
15 SECTION 7. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
16 immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fif-
e' teen (15} days after its passage shall be published once with
18 the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for
19 and against the same in the Paradise Post , a
20 newsp aper zn general circulation in the County of Butte, State
2I of California. The facts constituting the urgency on which this
22 Ordinance is based are
S3 1. To protect the health, safety and welfare of the
24 area .
