BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0. x.155
AN ORDINANGE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROAD WITHIN THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Section 22358)
1 The-Board of Supervisors o£ the Gounty of Butte, State of California,
2 does ordain as follows:
3 Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
4 engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
~ comes within the provisions of Section 2235$ of the Vehicle Code of the State
g of Galifornia, in that a speed limit of fifty-five (55} miles per hour is more
7 .than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and declares a
$ prima facie speed limit on such Butte Gounty highway as follows:
9 That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour is
10 hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES
~1 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
].2 highway, to wit:
I3 HUMBOLDT ROAD FROM 1,500 FEET WEST OF U.S. FORESTRY STATION, BUTTE
MEADOWS TO BUTTE CREEK.

1~ ~ Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
~g 'are hereby repealed.
],'~ Section 3o The several features, parts, provisions, sections and
~,$ terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and
~g the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section or term
20 thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the
2I 'same inoperative or invalid.
22 Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
23 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
24 speed limit established herein, within thirty {30} days of the adoption hereof.

This ordinance shall take effect thirty {30) days after its passage,
and before the expiration of fifteen {15) days after its passage, it shall
be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same,
once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
Californian
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 21 day
of September , 1976, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Ladd, Madigan, McKillop, Richter and Chairman Cameron
NOES: Nona
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
