Section 263 of the Butte County Code is amended tv read as follows: Section 263. Same ~ Amendments, additions and deletions , The Uniform Building Code as adopted by Section 126--1 is amended as follows; Section 20~ of the Uniform Building Code is hereby deleted. The local appeals board of the county which was established by Resolution No. 643 by the county board of supervisors shall hear any and all appeals regarding the application and enforcement of this chapter. Section 301 (a) of the Uniform Building Cade is hereby amended by the addition of the following paragraphs: ~'No permits shall be required for any agricultural building. Agricultural buildings are defined as follows: 'Agricultural building is a building located on agricultural property and used to shelter farm implements, hay, grain, poultry, livestock, or other farm produce, in which there is no human habitation, is not used commercially and which is not used by the public," "No permits sha11 be required for detached structures which have a total net area, including additions, of not more than two hundred (200) square feet, which would have an occupancy classification of Type J as defined in the Uniform Building Code, and which would be detached a minimum of six (6} 1 2 3 4, 5 6 7 8 9 ZO 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2d 21 22 23 24 25 26 feet from any building requiring a building permit. This exempw Lion shall apply to tool sheds, wood sheds and pulp houses. This exemption shall not apply to carports and garages."- - Section 302(d) of the Uniform Building Code is amended as follows; "Every building permit issued under the provisions of this code shall expire by limitation and become null and void after one (1) year from the date of issuance of said permit. ~f building is under construction, before work can continue, a new permit shall be first obtained and the fee therefor shall be one-half {1/2) the amount required for the original permit; provided, no changes have been made in the original plans." Section 303(x} of said Uniform Building Cade is hereby amended as follows; `Section 303(a) Building Permit Fees. A fee for each building permit shall be paid to the building official as set forth in Table No. 3rA."' The determination of value or valuation under any of the provisions of this code shall be made by the building official. The valuation to be used in computing the permit and plan-check fees shall be the total value of all construction work far which the permit is issued, as well as ail finish work, paint ing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditionipg, elevators, fire extinguishing systems and any other permanent work or permanent equipment." 2. 1 Section 303{b) of said Uniform Building Code is 2 hereby amended as follows; 3 "(b) Plan checking fees. When the valuation of 4 the proposed construction exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) ~ and a plan is required to be submitted by subsection (c} of 6 Section 30i, a plan-checking fee shall be paid to the building 7 official at the time of submitting plans and specifications for 8 checking. 9 Plan checking fees shall be one~half (1/2} the 10 building permit fee except that plan checking fees will not be ~I required on single family residences, duplexes and appurtenant 12 structures, tidhere plans are incomplete or changed sa as to 13 require additional plan checking, an additional plat-check fee ~4 shall be charged at a rate established by the building official. ~5 {c) Expiration of plan check. Applications is for which no permit is issued within one hundred eighty days 17 following the date of application shall expire by limitation and ~8 plans submitted for checking may thereafter be returned to the 19 applicant or destroyed by the building official. The building 2D official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a 21 period not exceeding one hundred eighty days upon written re- 22 quest by the applicant showing that circumstances beyond the 23 control of the applicant have prevented action from being taken. 24 In order to renew action on an application after expiration, the 2S applicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan check fee. 26 4. 1 2 3 4 5 s' 7 8 s 10 I1 1.2 13 14 ~.5 16 ~.7 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 "l~here work for which a permit is required by this code is started ar proceeded with prior to obtaining said per mit, the fees specified in Table No. 3TA shall be tri~ied, but the payment of suet triple fee shall not relieve any persons from fully complying with the requirements of this code in the execution of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed herein." Section 303 of said Uniform Building Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (f) as follows: "Where any:owner or contractor desires an additional set of approved building plans, the fee for this service sha11 be five dollars for residential buildings, and ten dollars for commercial buildings." Section 303 of said Uniform Building Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (g) as follows; °'Where an owner desires an inspection of a building on which there is not an active building permit, for financing or other purposes, the inspection fee shall be twenty-five dollars per building. This fee shall be paid prior to the in- spection. This fee is to cover the cost of inspection and related administrative costs only. Any erection, construction, enlarge- ment, alteration, repair, movement, improvement, removal, conversion, or demolition required as a result of the inspection will require separate building permit fees and inspections." Chapter i5 and Chapter 70 of the appendix of the l~niform Building Code are hereby deleted, (Ord. No. 886, Sections 4, 7-10 Ord. No. 90i; Ord. Noy 956; Ord. No. 1027, Section 1; Ord. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force at the expiration of thirty (30) days .from and after its passage and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names of the members voting for and against the same in a newspaper of general circu- lation printed and published in the County of Butte.
