AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "R-1"
(SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL} DISTRICT

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-30 of the Butte
County Code, and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
hereby zoned as an "R-1" (Single-Family Residential} District for
a period of eight months, and such area shall be subject to the
restrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter
specified and provided.
Said area so zoned being located in Thermalito, more
particularly described as follows:
A portion of "Thermalito Sub" per map of record
Wall Map No. 6 on file in the Office of the Butte
County Recorder described as:
That property located south of Grand Ave.,
west of 12th 5t., east of 14th St., and
north of the centerline of Sierra Ave.
(now abandoned).
Containing 26 acres, more or less, Oraville.
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "R-1" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply in an "R-1"
DiStriCt:
(A} USES PERMITTED:
1. One single-family dwelling per parcel, not
including tents, trailers, or mobile homes.
2. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses
3. Household pets (but not including livestock,
poultry or poisonous reptiles}.

(B) THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
IN EACH CASE:
1. Golf courses and country clubs.
2. Public and quasi-public uses including churches,
firehouses, hospitals, parks, playgrounds, schools
and public utility buildings.
3. Sales tract office.
(C} THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 24-33 SHALL APPLY.
SECTION 3. Ail uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted are prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by
adding this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the
zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided
in the Butte County Code, Chapter 24, this Ordinance shall from
and after its effective date become a supplement to and part of
the Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
SECTION 5. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
t15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names
of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against
the same i n the Qxovi~.le Mexcury a newspaper i n
general circulation in the County of Butte, State of California.
The facts constituting the urgency on which this Ordinance is
based are:

1. The area is under consideration for permanent
zoning, This interim zoning will protect the
integrity of the area until this permanent
zoning can be imposed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 23rd day of
November, 1976, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Ladd, Madigan, McKillop, and Chaa.rman Cameron
