AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A "C-2" (GENERAL
COMMERCIAL) DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
2 0~ California, under and., pursuant to Chapter 24-29 of the Butte
3 County Cade of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
fi the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
6 hereby zoned as a "C-2" (General Commercial) District, and such ~'
7 area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses
8 and regulations hereinafter specified and provided.
9 Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated
XO area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as
~~ follows:
12 The northwesterly l32 ft. of Lot 74 of
"Bidwell 2nd Sub" per Map of Record in A~iap
13 Boolc 5 on Page 27 of the Butte County Recorder,
identified as AF 42-14-13, Chico.

15 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR A "C-2" DISTRICT:
18 The following regulatiians sha11 apply in a ~"C-2"
17 District.
18 (A) USES PERMITTED:
I9 1. Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to the
20 building site area, lot width and yard rec~uire-
23. ments specified for residential districts.
22 2. All uses permitted in "C~1" (Light Commercial)
23 Districts.
24 3. General commercial uses including art shops,
~ aviaries, bar and cocktail lounges, billiard
26 parlors and pool ha11s, bowling alleys, building

1 material (retail), cleaning and pressing establish-
2 menu , dance halls, interior decorating shops,
3 employment agencies, governmental legislative build-
4 ings, gymnasiums, public, commercial or physical
5 cultural studios, hospitals, hotels and motels,
6 laboratories and x-ray facilities, massage parlors
7 and reducing salons, equipment rentals, pet shops,
S used car lots, repair garages, auto car washes,
9 plumbing shops, cabinet shops, sign manufacturing
10 shops, and other retail establishments when
11 interpreted as similar.
12 ~. Accessory uses and buildings pertinent to a permittec
13 use.
I4 (B) THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
I5 IN EACH CASE.
16 1. Welding shops.
17 Z. Manufacturing of clothing, handicraft products,
18 painting, lithographing and other light manufactuxin~
19 or industrial uses of similar character.
24 3. Public ox quasi-public uses including churches.
2~ 4. Service stations, drive-in restaurants, kennels and
22 small animal hasp itals and mortuaries.
23 (C) THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 24-33 OF THIS CODE ARE
24 MODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN C-2 ZONE: IN THE
~ FOLLOWING PARTICULARS:
28 1. Lat width required.

Minimum lot width. shall not be less than twenty-five
(25} feet.
The lot width requirements for residential dwellings
shall canfoxm to the requirements fox any residential
zone.
2. Side yard requirements.
None, except where the side of a lot abuts upon the
side of a lot in an "R" District, in which case the
abutting side yard sha11 not he less than five (5)
feet; and except where the side yard on the street
side of a corner lot abuts on an "R" District, in
which case the side yard an the street side shall
be ane-half the front yard required in such "R"
Districts.
The side yard requirements for residential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements for any residential
zone.
3. Rear yard required.
Twelve (l2} feet, or five (5) feet adjacent to an
a11ey .
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted axe prohibited.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by
adding this Ordinance in fu11.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the

1 zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
2 the Butte County Cade, Chapt~;r 24, this Ordinance sha11 from and
3 after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
4 Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
5 SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be and it is hereby
8 declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30)
? days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
8 fifteen {1 S) days after its passage, this ordinance shad be
9 published once with the. names of the members of the Board of
10 Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise
11 Record a newspaper published in the County of Butte,
12 State of California.

14 the County of Butte, State of California, on the 7th day of
15 December, 1975, by the fallowing vote:
