AN~ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A "C-2" (GENERAL
COI+~IMERCIAL} DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 24-29.
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
2 of California, under and pursuant to Chapter 24-29 of the Butte

County Code of said County DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION 1, The hereinafter described area situated in
5 ......
6 the County of Butte, State of Cal ifarnia, shall be and it is hereby
? zoned as a "C-2" (General Commercial) District, and such area shall
8 be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations
9 hereinafter specified and provided.
14 Said area sa xaned being located in the unincarporated
7.1 area of Butte County, Chico, more particularly described as
12 follows:
13 Lot "A" of that certain Parcel Map recorded in
Map of Recard Map Boak 50 on Page S of the
I.4 Butte County Recorder .
15 Containing 1.23 acre, mare or less.
16 SECTION 2, REGULATIONS FOR A "C-2" DISTRICT:
17 The following regulations shall apply in a "C-2" District
18 {A) USES PERMITTED:
19 1. Dwellings and dwelling groups, subject to the
2D building site area, lot width and yard require-
2I ments specified for residential districts,
22 2. All uses permitted in "C-1" {Light Commercial)
23 Districts.
~ 3,. General commercial uses including art shops,
~ aviaries, bar and cocktail lounges, billiard
26 parlors and pool ha11s, bowling alleys, building

material (retail}, cleaning and pressing establish-
ments, dance halls, interior decorating shops,
employment agencies, governmental legislative build-
ings, gymnasiums, public, commercial or physical
cultural studios, hospitals, hotels and motels,
laboratories and x-ray facilities,massage parlors
and reducing salons, equipment rentals, pet shops,
used car lots, repair garages, auto car washes,
plumbing shops, cabinet shops, sign manufacturing
shops, and other retail establishments when inter-
preted as similar.
4. Accessory uses and buildings pertinent to a permitte
use.
(B) THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
IN EACH CASE.
1. Welding shops.
2. Manufacturing of clothing, handicraft products,
printing, lithographing and other light manufacturin
or industrial uses of similar character.
3. Public or quasi-public uses including churches.
4. Service stations, drive-in restaurants, kennels and
small animal hospitals and mortuaries.
(G} THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 24-33 OF THIS CODE ARE
MODIFIED FOR ALL BUILDING SITES IN C-2 ZONE: IN THE
FOLLOWING PARTICULARS:

Minimum lot width shall not be less than twenty-five
(25) feet .
The lot width requirements for residential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements for any residential
zone.
2. Side yard requirements.
None, except where the side of a lot abuts upon the
side of a lot in an "R" District, in which case the
abutting side yard shall. not be less than five (5)
feet; and except where the side yard on the street
side of a corner lot abuts on an "R" District, in
which case the side yard on the street side sha11 be
one-half the front yard required in such "R"
Districts.
The side yard requirements for residential dwellings
shall conform to the requirements for any residential
zone.
3. Rear yard required.
Twelve (12) feet, or five (S) feet adjacent to an
alley.
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
Is ecificall authorized and permitted are prohibited.

SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Butte County Code, Chapter 24, the same is hereby amended by adding
(this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the

zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in
the Butte County. Code, Ck~ap'ter 24, this.. Ordinance shall from and
after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
Butte County Code, Chapter 24.
SECTION b. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
'.declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30)
days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of
fifteen (1S) days after it s. passage, this Ordinance shall be
published once with the names of the members of the Board of
Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise
Record a newspaper published in the County of Butte,
State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, an the 1I~h day of
