AN ORDINANCE REORGANIZING THE BUTTE COUNTY P~.ANNING
COMMISSION

DO ORDAIN as follows:

Section 1. That Sections 2-fib, 2-70, 2-71; 2--76
of the Butte County Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2-68. Composition; Nomination and
A ointment of Members; Advisor Members. The county planning
commission shall consist of five (5) members. Each member of
the Board of Supervisors shall nominate one member of the
commission, and shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
In addition to the appointed members of the planning commission
there shall be five (5}advisory members wha shall be one (l}
representative selected by each of the four incorporated
cities within the County of Butte and one representative from
the Paradise Municipal Advisory Commission.
Section 2-70 shall be amended to. read as follows:
The term of each member of the planning
commission shall coincide and be coexistent with the term of
office of-the member of the Board of Supervisors wha nominated
him. If a vacancy shall occur in the membership of the commission
other than by expiration of term, it shall be filled by appoint-
ment far the unexpired portion of the term of the Board of
Supervisor nominating him in the same manner as provided in
Section 2-68. The terms of advisory members shall be as
determined by the respective cities and the Paradise Municipal
Advisory Commission.

Section 2-71 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Each planning commissioner shall receive reason-
able travel expenses for each meeting attended as prescribed by
resolution of the Board of Supervisors, and in addition thereto
shall receive stipend in the amount of Thirty (~30.Q0} dollars
for each regular or special meeting attended.
Section 2-76 is hereby amended to read as follows:
The present and incumbent members of the planning
commission are hereby discharged with the deep appreciation and
thanks of the Board of Supervisors, an their own behalf, as
we71 as on behalf of the people of Butte County. Upon the
effective date of this ordinance, the terms of the members of
the presently existing planning commission are terminated and
upon the effective date of this ordinance, the Board of
Supervisors sha71 make new appointments pursuant to the pro-
visions of Section 2-68.
Section 2. Section 2-95 of the Sutte County Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
The Board of Zoning Adjustment sha71 consist of
(three members to be appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a
term of two years, provided however, that the initial terms of
office pursuant to the ordinance shall expire on the first
Tuesday in January, 1979.

Any member of the Soard of Zoning Adjustment
may be removed therefrom by a majority vote of the Board of
Supervisors
The Board of Supervisors may appoint an alternate
member who shall sit on said Board of Zoning Adjustment whenever
a regular member is absent.
The members of the Board of Zoning Adjustment,
including the alternate shall be compensated at the same rate and
in the same manner as provided for members of the planning
commission.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect
thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption, and before the
expiration of fifteen {l5) days after its passage, it shall be
published with the names of the members voting for and against
the same i n the orovil3.e Mercury a newspaper published
in the County of Butte, State of California.
