Resolution No. 18-011
RESOLUTION DECLARING 2018 AS A YEAR OF RECOGNITION FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF BUTTE COUNTY
FOR THEIR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity of Butte County (Habitat) began its service in 1993, and has, with its programs,
donors, and volunteers, built 32 homes, helping 31 families moue into decent and affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, Habitat has partnered with local government to build energy-efficient and sustainable, affordable
housing to contribute to neighborhood development;andl
WHEREAS,the business community, individuals, community, and faith-based organizations have joined in this
effort with donations, labor(over 130,000 hours), and expertise; and
WHEREAS, 31 families have pledged their labor and their commitment to building and maintaining homes;
creating strong neighborhoods and strong communities; and contributing to the economic health of Butte County; and
WHEREAS, Habitat in partnership with the Restore has diverted nearly 5,000,000 lbs. of building materials and
house goods from the landfill since 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby declare that the entire
year of 2018 will be a year of recognition and appreciation of 25 years of service to our community by Habitat for Humanity
of Butte County,who, along with the Restore and thousands of community members have made invaluable contributions
to improve the quality and character of our county.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County (Board of Supervisors this 23'd day of January, 2018, by the following
vote:
